The Second Line Parade

The Second Line Parade

Here’s something I’ve never seen before! It’s called the Second Line Parade. It’s a tradition at Southern weddings where everyone follows the new bride and groom (they and their wedding party are carrying festive umbrellas) dancing and waving napkins in the air. Really a neat sight to see.

Note: I learned that this is a traditional New Orleans dance, not broadly ‘Southern’ per se. The wedding was in Thibodaux.
